goverment

yesterday in our career exploration class we researched two careers in the goverment cluster. the two careers i researched were chief executive and politcal scientist. these two careers are very similar thye both have basicaly the same job which is to manage certain things theyy also work for the goverment. another way they are similar is they both need lots of education and have a high pay.

art

the last career cluster we researched was the arts cluster. the first career i researched was a film editor for thier job they edit images, videos and other media they need a bacholors degree for this career on average they make about $51,000 a year. for my second job i chose a photographer they photograph things using cameras they justt need a high school diploma for this career and they make about $28,000.

my true colors

yesterday in class a girl came in and talked to us about our true colors and we got to figure out which ones best fit us. my highest true color was gold since i am a gold that means i follow rules, respect autority, have a strong since of what is right and wrong, and need to be useful. the guest told me that with these colors the jobs that would fit me best is a type of cop or a military person. my second closest color is an orange this means i act on a moments notice, consider life as a game, need variety, value skill and am a competitor.

True Colors

in class today we looked over what the 4 true colors mean. the first set of colors go with the teachers they represent. i think that Mr. Boyars is probaly a gold becuase he is always organized. i think Mr. Dunham is blue because most of the time his class is pretty relaxed. i think Mr. Thomas is green because he uses logic. i think that Mrs. Collier would be orange becuase ahe is always making sure people are paying attintion. for this set of colors they go with my friends. ben would probaly be gold because he is normally organized. ian would probally be green because he uses logic. jamie would probaly be blue because he is normlly calm. salem would probaly be orange because he makes quick decision.

business

this week we researched two careers in the business managment and administration cluster. the first one i choose is a computer operator. they monitor and control electronic computer data processing for this job some of the skills you need you need have computer skills read listen speak and have time managment for this job they need to also have an associates degree. the second career i choose was a cargo agent their main job is to monitor and prepare shipments so every thing goes good. they need to have speaking listening monioring time managment and negotation skills for this job the majority of the people only have a high school diploma.

learning style

we did a learning skills assesment in career education class. i figured out that my learning style is tactile. this skill means that i learn best by hands on activites. this might impact my learning a little because most teachers don't do hands on activites. since i have figured out what my learning style is i can now tell teachers or others if i don't understand what they mean because of the way they teach so i can ask if tehy can explain it to me another way if i don't understand it.

architecture and consrtuction

The last two careers we did in this class were in the architecture careeer cluster. one of the careers i did in this cluster was a fence erectors. in this career your job is to build, replace, and repair fences you do not need any college for this career but you do need some on the job training so you know what you are doing. the other career i did was a crane operator in this careeer your job is to move procucts, machines, or other things with a crane. for this job you just need to go to a training camp then get soome on the job experince. The careers this week were ok because i would not mind to have them as a job but most of the other careers we have reserched i would never ever want to do. other than this cluster and 1 or 2 others all the other are kind of worthless so far.

human services

I searched two jobs in the human services cluster clergy and nannie. I think both of these jobs were in the same cluster because they both are involved with working for others.

STEM

STEM stands for science technology engineering and mathmatics.I think that the school choose STEM as one of the academies because it has the widest range of oppurtunites avalible. I think that PCHS didn't change the name of STEM because unlike the other career clusters STEMs name basically tells you what subjects it concentrates on.

Throughout this class we have learned about a bunch of different jobs. I have learned a lot of information about a lot of different jobs. My most recent career I have reseached is a Pharmisit it was one in the health scieance cluster. Only one of the jobs I have reserched I would think about doing all of the other jobs i wouold never ever want to do. with the last job i reseached which was a pharmisit it was in the health science cluster i found that along with some of the information technology jobs that most of them require a lot of schoolong.

PCHS career exploration

In our career exploration class we are going to be talking about careers in the different career clusters. We are doing this so we can get a better idea about the career we might be interested in.
